Sacraments
The sacraments are the heart of Catholic life. They are visible signs of God’s grace that draw us into deeper communion with Him and the Church, nourish our faith and strengthen us for our spiritual journey.

Holy Communion
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. As a sacrifice, it makes present Jesus Christ's Body of Christ sacrifice on the cross at Calvary for the salvation of many. As a presence, it is Jesus himself, body and blood, under the appearance of bread and wine. And as food, it is the nourishment of our souls by which we share in God’s own life. And as viaticum, accompanies us on our pilgrim journey to heaven.

Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church. There are three orders of the sacrament namely: Episcopate (Bishop), Presbyterate (Priest) and Diaconate (Deacon). Please contact Fr Tomy or Fr Baby, for more information, or the Vocations Office of Broken Bay Diocese. To understand the calling of God to the priesthood or permanent diaconate, please contact the Vocations Broken Bay at vocations@

Anointing of the Sick
By the sacred anointing of the sick person (emotional, spiritual and physical) and the prayer of the priest, the whole church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord that he may raise them up and save them. Through anointing with oil and the prayer of the priest, the sick receive grace for the salvation of their souls and possible bodily healing. Baptism is a most wonderful sacrament, marking the beginning of a new kind of relationship between God and the baptized. It is the first Sacrament of Christian Initiation and through baptism we enter into the life of Christ and the Christian faith community; and, as such, have a right to the love and help of the faith community to live out our baptismal calling. Adult Baptism There is a formal process of preparation and instruction for Adult Baptism called Rite of Christian I

Reconciliation
Traditionally this sacrament was called the Sacrament of Penance. It reflects metanoia, which is translated as penance and denotes a change of heart or repentance. Pope St John Paul II described this sacrament as a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and a part of the mission of the Church to be reconciled and a reconciling community. He added that the primary effect of this sacrament is the forgiveness of sins. Its secondary effect is growth in holiness. Pope Francis's teac

These Programmes are facilitated by the Parish but a responsibility of the Parents. Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their child. Faith education by parents begins in the child’s earliest years, such as showing them how to pray and reading easy Bible stories about Jesus. The preparation programme for each sacrament is a parish based programme and structured in such a way that parents and children spend quality time with each other in preparation to r

Marriage
Marriage is a sacrament, an expression of people's connection to God, by which a man and a woman form with each other, an intimate communion of life and love. Marriage signifies the union of Christ and the Church, and it gives the spouses the grace to love each other, with the love with which Christ loves the Church. The Catholic Church's policy requires couples to undergo a Pre-marriage Education course, in order that they prepare well to live out their marriage. At least si
